Rahmeh
The local hospital in Beit Jala, a Christian suburb, raced to Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem with Rahmeh, a 43-year-old mother-to-be. The local doctor knew he did not have the capability to treat Rahmeh at the inadequate facility. Rahmeh had pre-eclamsia and pulmonary edema, and without proper medical care, mother and baby would surely die. Only the expert medical staff at Holy Family Hospital could treat such a condition. Holy Family doctors quickly stabilized Rahmeh and performed an emergency caesarean section to deliver the baby. Today Rahmeh and her baby boy are at home and doing well.
