Mouna
Mouna, 36, from the Christian suburb of Beit Jala, works for a family as a cook to support herself, her husband, Nadar, and her four children. Nadar is illiterate, unemployed, and alcoholic.
Mouna came to the hospital when she was five months pregnant. Having had a miscarriage the year before, she was afraid she might lose her baby again. She worried that she could not pay for medical care. The hospital is treating Mouna in its outpatient clinic, and she is expected to give birth in October. The hospital will cover her medical expenses unless Mouna’s economic situation changes.
