June 2003
Holy Family Hospital is delivering more babies, seeing
more patients and resuming its mobile clinics!
At a meeting of the international board of the hospital
on June 16th, it was reported that infant deliveries
were up by 33% and outpatient care up by 86% as compared
to January-May 2002. It is projected that the hospital
will deliver 2,400 babies by the end of 2003, as compared
to 1,617 in 2002.
Earlier in the year the hospital lowered fees and
extended outpatient care to mothers and children up
to the age of twelve. In the first five months 4,213
mothers and 635 children were treated.
Outpatient success has generated new relationships
with medical specialists in private practice and hospitals,
such as the world-renown St. John’s Opthalmic
Hospital in Jerusalem, who now hold specialized clinics
at Holy Family Hospital.
Last month the mobile outreach van traveled to two
villages where they treated 130 patients.
